“Law of conservation of art” in Sweden

On November 28, in  Eskilstuna art centre in Sweden, project “Law of conservation of art” by Klaipėda Culture Communication Centre “Kultūrpolis” will be presented. Project will continue till January 31, 2010. According to the project curator Ignas Kazakevičius, „Kultūrpolis“ marks its fifth year with art and creative work, that’s why artists who closely collaborate with the centre and analyze the aesthetics of contemporary art, are presented in the project: J. Kazakevičiūtė (objects of soft sculpture), L. Marcinkevičiūtė (drawings by marker), B. Neverdauskienė (installation) A. Petrulienė and “Psilicon theatre“ (audio-visual performance), Ž. Augustinas (painting), A. Klemencovas (objects, installations), T. Vosylius (kinetic objects).

Authors highlight in an intriguing way the components of the “visual culture”: its shape, colour, texture and facture, substance and duration, clichés of visual rhetoric, remakes and semantics. In their art, virtuosity of technique and intrigue of the content are equally important. Much attention is given to physiological motifs and material, through which the relation of the creation’s visual aesthetics and its informative value is expressed.

“Law of conservation of art” is the gradation from elementary surface plastic art to visualization of the creative process.

Project of Eskilstuna art centre will be presented in Klaipėda this year, on December 11. We will see the fine arts exhibition in Klaipėda art exhibition hall, and classes of artistic excellence will take place in the workshops of “Kultūrpolis” Arts courtyard.
